ESPEN Courses

ESPEN is committed to disseminate good clinical practice in the field of clinical nutrition and metabolism. To this end and among other activities, the ESPEN Course in Clinical Nutrition Course is organized every year. 

This course, which is rotating across eastern European countries, provides basic concepts and advanced, yet comprehensive, overview of the nutritional consequences and metabolic challenges posed by acute and chronic diseases. Also, the correct approach to patients, based on ESPEN educational material (i.e., ESPEN Guidelines, Blue Book, LLL material, etc.), is discussed by an international faculty using an interactive methodology.

However, ESPEN recognizes that the use of specific tools or the implementations of specific clinical procedures are becoming the key to ensure the delivery of good clinical practice. Therefore, ESPEN is supporting courses focusing on the practical approach to key diagnostic and therapeutic tools/procedures. The aims of the ESPEN Experts’ Courses should be in line with the ESPEN recommendations although the discussion of emerging concepts is welcome.

The aims of the courses are:
- dissemination of the correct use of instruments or clinical procedures
